A word about shows
The Basenji Club of NSW holds 2 breed shows each year.

Easter time each year sees the club host our Open Show.
The second weekend in October the club holds its Championship Show.
The NSW Champ Show has long been regarded as Australia's premier Basenji breed show. Usual breed entry numbers are over 100 with exhibitors travelling from all states of Australia to attend.
Each year the club secures an International judge and always selects a judge that is either a breeder of Basenjis or someone that has a recognised history within the breed. So being awarded the ultimate prize of Best in Show at this event is something that all Australian breeders strive for.
Many breeder-judges around the world consider the NSW Champ Show, the best Basenji show in the world and most judges consider being offered an appointment at this show the highlight of their judging careers.
Basenjis in Australia have, for a long time, been considered the best in the world, so its no wonder that if you are the lucky breeder or owner of the Best in Show Winner, it will always remain a very important part of your canine life.
